Shibuya Incident
this entry is written twice, in full
- 1.in brief
real-time 3D city digital twin
- 2.in general
A city block that keeps updating while you look at it.
- 3.in particular
Real-time 3D city mapping with a Rust WebSocket backend handling 10k+ concurrent connections.
- 1.in brief
a live 3D model of a city district
- 2.in general
A city block that keeps updating while you are looking at it.
- 3.in particular
A 3D city map fed by a server that can hold ten thousand simultaneous connections.
note
A 3D map of Shibuya with live data streaming (hexagon heatmaps, custom GLSL effects, and per-building data), fed by a Rust5/Tokio6 WebSocket backend with 10–100× lower latency than a Python equivalent and room for 10k+ concurrent connections.
note
A 3D map of Shibuya with data arriving continuously: heat maps, custom visual effects, and figures attached to individual buildings. The server behind it is written in a fast systems language, which makes it between ten and a hundred times quicker to respond than the same thing written in a scripting language, and leaves room for ten thousand people connected at once.
