About
A bit about me.
I'm Cyrus. I write software and work in architecture. I studied Computer Engineering at Simon Fraser University, with a minor in Mathematics. Most of my projects start with something I want to use, and I tend to keep going until I understand how the parts underneath it work. That has taken me from web apps to Rust tools, graphics engines and hardware.
I've built an online shop that's taking orders, published two Rust crates, and built tools for working with architectural drawings and survey data. Some projects come out of my day job. Others exist because I got curious and wanted to try something. One of the Rust crates adds goto to a language that left it out on purpose.
I've worked alongside my studies since 2019. While studying at SFU, I worked at Port Moody Liquor Store and spent part of that time coaching at Snap Fitness, too. Those jobs are part of the story, so they're here alongside the engineering work.

What I'm working on
- Taking on freelance and contract work in web development, systems and AI.
- Maintaining gotobykkrwhofrags and crement, my two published Rust crates.
- Working on Strata, a browser-based viewer for large LiDAR point clouds.
- Spending more time with Rust async internals and GPU compute.
I've written more about the projects and how I built them in the work section.

The broader list: 98 tools and techniques across 9 groups. Numbers show how many project write-ups list each tool in their stack. An unnumbered item is something I use that isn't named in those stack lists.
